Years ago (1993-96 to be exact) I had to endure an early morning commute from the Jersey Shore to Manhattan 3 times a week. It was pretty unbearable and the faces of the other commuters as they boarded the bus reminded me how soul-crushing it was to have to do so. But before the days of MP3 players (although I had some great mixed tapes to listen to), cell phones, and digital photography, to pass the time I started photographing my commute with my first point-and-shoot camera and the always beautiful Kodachrome film. It was such an anonymous experience and I could feel the loss of hours of my life sitting in NYC traffic wishing I was somewhere else...
