Katie-Jane and Michael will be recieving this daring yet elegant Queensberry matted wedding album next week as I just shipped it out this morning. They chose mint buckram for the photo front cover which I just love with the timeless image of them on the beach of southern NJ on the cover. It is a 14"x10" album that allows me to feature my favorite images from their wedding up to 8"x12" on a page yet also lets me include a few images together on a page to fully tell the story of their fun and elegant day.
Once again I'm feeling a little nostalgic for the days of film. Oh, and also for the days when I was the only one at the wedding with a camera and none of the guests were distracted by their own gadgets! This is the amazingly intimate wedding of Beth & Chad that I shot in 1999. So long ago it seems but yet the images are everything I strive to achieve even today. It took place entirely at Harkness Memorial State Park in Connecticut and it couldn't have been a more wonderful experience to have gotten to document. I remember being very nervous (it was only about my 10th wedding) that there would be so few people and wondering what on earth I would even photograph and that they wanted it all in black and white (yes, b/w film). Then I got there and saw all the wonderful smiling faces of their family and friends and my job was suddenly very obvious and easy.
Another gorgeous wedding album created by me and Queensberry of New Zealand in honor of Megan & Ryan's wedding at Flathead Lake Lodge here in Montana. This uniquely styled one is a Duo album which is a contemporary fusion of matted, full-bleed and flushmount pages.
Okay, only 20th place, but the ISPWP (International Society of Professional Wedding Photographers) contest is world-wide (over 90 countries represented) and only 8 out of the winners in this category were shot at weddings in the U.S. So I'm really pleased to have had my photo selected and included amongst so many incredible images.
Allison and Paul were married at Congress Hall in Cape May, NJ, and will be getting their gorgeous Queensberry album shipped to them this week. This is an 11x14 photo front pagemount album with ivory mattes on ivory pages. The cover is the understated gold buckram with the photo of their choice (although it was my favorite too!) filling half the page. Thanks to Riley for being so patient for their kiss.
For more images from their wedding see my original blog post which includes an award winning image from the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA) or you can view the slideshow below for their complete album.
I am really pleased to be able to share the story of the wedding day of Stephanie and Brian, a couple that has been together since high school and also through her reign as Miss Montana 2007, and will clearly be together for decades to come. The location at Rocky Point on Flathead Lake was both intimate and grand and I'm pretty sure the whole town of St. Ignatius attended as both grew up there. And that's what made this wedding really special - not the perfectly thought out details (yes, those are beaver beer koozies for the groomsmen!) - but the perfectly thought out relationships between Stephanie and Brian and their family, neighbors and friends, including Catherine, Stephanie's 100 year old bridesmaid.
