Megan & Ryan ~ Montana Wedding Photography

Ok, here's my first Montana wedding! This lovely California couple came to Bigfork, Megan's childhood summer home, to get married at The Flathead Lake Lodge. I couldn't have gotten more lucky to have such an amazing couple and location for my first wedding here. A bit different from NJ weddings with the amazing lake location and lodge vibe but my favorite thing that said "you are not in NJ anymore" was The Cold Creek Band, clearly NOT a tuxedoed orchestra, who really knew how to play and entertain this crowd that clearly had a wonderful time.

You're Invited: Local Color Exhibit & Studio Tour ~ Montana Fine Art Photography

I'm really pleased to have been accepted into the first annual juried Local Color Exhibition & Studio Tour at The Hockaday Museum of Art that celebrates Flathead Valley artists and artisans. There is a month's long exhibition at the museum along with a studio tour on October 2nd. If you are in the area please come to the exhibition opening and say hello or try to make the studio tour.

The opening for the exhibition is Thursday, September 30th, 5-7 pm. The Hockaday Museum of Art is located in the cultural district of downtown Kalispell at 302 Second Ave East. It is housed in a 1904 Carnegie Library building that appears on the National Register of Historic Places.

Tickets for the studio tour are available for $5 per person and children age 12 & under are free. All ticket proceeds benefit the Hockaday Museum of Art’s mission “to enrich the cultural life of our community and region, and preserve the artistic legacy of Montana and Glacier National Park”.

I look forward to seeing you!

Elk Season ~ Montana Documentary Photography

Coming to terms with the culture of my new home in Montana. My neighbor Jesse, born and raised here in Bigfork, returned from a 10 day successful bow-hunting excursion into The Bob Marshall Wilderness with his friend Johnny. They packed in with 4 horses and didn't see another human for the 10 days in. Jesse's kids were really excited to have their dad home. Jealous that I couldn't go with them to document The Bob and the hunt, I hung out while they unpacked the truck.
