I journeyed up to Polebridge, Montana recently to the open house given annually by artist Peter Moore. Polebridge is located 30+ miles north of Columbia Falls in the North Fork Valley of the wild and scenic Flathead River between the Continental Divide on the east and the Whitefish Range to the west and at the northwestern entrance to Glacier National Park. Make that 30+ miles of unpaved road. It is also the only town in the lower 48 that runs entirely on a generator. Oh, and the Polebridge Mercantile is the only store there and has the best baked goods and sandwiches, plus a few characters hanging about. After the visit to Peter's which included art, wilderness golfing, and a lesson on mushrooms with some magical properties, we headed out to Bowman Lake in Glacier National Park. One of my most favorite Montana days yet, and Sugar would probably agree.

That Slow Down People Breathing sign might be one of my favorite things I've ever seen. Also the walking on the log in the lake. Such a beautiful and inspiring post!
Thank you, Erin!
Lauren,
This page of your visit with Peter Moore and the sites around Polebridge are beautiful. I don't know if its themonitor I am viewing on are if you have printed these photos with just the right "MAGIC" to add a richness of age. Inside the Merc is great.
I wished you had been with me during my year on the North Fork in 1986. Peter was one of the GREAT individuals I met that year and had dinner in that cabin.
I'll be look more at your site ... your work is great.
Thank you, David, for stopping by here and letting me know that you enjoyed the images.
